One thing that came through strongly in this episode is how well-suited Tom and Harry are for each other. Until the alien invasion, they are having a lot of fun with the Captain Proton holoprogram; obviously, it's something they do often together. This contrasts quite sharply with the rest of the crew's reactions to Proton. Janeway, Tuvok, Seven, etc., all say something along the lines of "This is what you do with your spare time? Get a life!"
The costumes were a bit disappointing, I must say. The men's costumes in these SF serials were as daring as the women's. Often, the hero wore tights...when he was wasn't stripped down to a loincloth and body oil, that is. I was hoping for something, er, more authentic. Lose the baggy pants, Har!

That Harry is such a tease!

Another part I really liked, though it was more a Tom moment than a Tom and Harry moment, was when the Doc is telling the aliens about Captain Proton. After giving them the "defender of the universe, etc." spiel, the doctor adds that Proton is also a competent medic - though he'll never admit it to Tom.
