UPN 9: "Endgame"

UPN 9 News in New York City aired this segment May 23, 2001. Despite their promises of "extensive coverage" of the finale, and a behind-the-scenes look at Enterpise, their Trek coverage was even shorter and fluffier than usual. There was no Enterprise coverage to speak of. Don't know if they were lying in their promos, or an expected interview didn't come through.

Transcript:

Admiral Janeway: A lot's happened since I was you.

Pat Collins: Those events propel Admiral Janeway to turn back the clock and race to rescue the younger Janeway and the Voyager crew in its decisive battle with the Borg. Janeway's plan requires the cooperation of the Klingons, the complicity of Captain Kim and the married Doc of the future, and advanced technology to outwit the Borg Queen. The explosive action was matched by human drama in the season finale. A baby girl was born to B'Elanna, and Tom Paris. Tuvok exemplified self-sacrifice.

Tuvok: To quote Ambassador Spock, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

Pat Collins: Seven of Nine and Chakotay's fateful love affair hung in the balance.

Admiral Janeway: Seven of Nine's going to die. Three years from now, she'll be injured on an away mission. She'll make it back to Voyager and die in the arms of her husband, Chakotay.

Jeri Ryan: It will be hard not to see a lot of these people every day.

Robert Duncan McNeill: It's just something really special about Star Trek, about the sort of, the legacy of it. There is nothing else like it.

Harry Kim: Maybe it's not the destination that matters. Maybe it's the journey.

Kate Mulgrew: What a thing this has been. Not many people get this opportunity. It's been intensely personal.

Captain Janeway: Set a course. We're home.

Wiliam Shatner: There is something in the formula of the franchise that seems to work and it will work again. Scott Bakula and Enterprise.

Pat Collins: Enterprise, which is a prequel to the original series will premiere on UPN in October. And soon to go in production is Star Trek 10. That's the working title for the next movie. Patrick Stewart and - so will the Romulans.
