Transcript:

Get ready. Star Trek: Voyager is about to beam off the air. There is only one episode left and it will be an explosive finale. Tonight, Pat Collins has the story.

Pat Collins: Kate Mulgrew describes the finale as "heartbreaking." Does that mean the captain will perish or a crew member will die, before voyager returns to Earth? They are under orders not to say. What can be said is that Kate Mulgrew is one gifted actress, and her commanding presence elevated the genre of science fiction, beginning with Voyager's very first show.

[from "Caretaker"]

Janeway: We'll find a way back. Mr. Paris, set a course...for home.

Pat Collins: And after seven years, they are almost home, but not before encountering their arch rival, the Borg, in the season finale. Here's a surprise. An old and gray Admiral Janeway pulls rank on a young Captain Janeway.

[from "Endgame"]

Admiral Janeway: [to Capt. Janeway] In case you didn't notice, I outrank you, Captain. Now do it.

Kate Mulgrew: I don't think there is anybody who is really a devout fan who will not be satisfied with the finale. It's a mind-blower. It's high-quality science fiction and it's a complete heartbreaker. It's everything you could wish for. [from "Endgame"]

Admiral Janeway: [tenderly, to insane Tuvok] I'm going away and I may not see you again.

Pat Collins: One character does not age in this episode. He, of course is, the holographic doctor.

[from "Endgame"]

Admiral Janeway: How is married life?

Doc: Wonderful. You should try it.

Pat Collins: Also next week, B'Elanna and Tom's long-awaited baby will arrive.

[from "Endgame"]

Kim: Don't you want to find a way home?

Paris: I am home, Harry.

Pat Collins: A flower-bearing Seven materializes in Chakotay's bedroom.

[from "Endgame"]

Chakotay: [to Seven] We should put these in water.

[they smooch]

Pat Collins: You didn't see a kiss like that on Deep Space Nine or The Next Generation. And here's how the captain compared those shows to Voyager.

Kate Mulgrew: It's a great story of humanity. In a way, I think the other two weren't.

Pat Collins: The cast officially said good-bye to Voyager last month. The final show was shot, the wrap party was held, but the captain had one last moment.

Kate Mulgrew: I had to go back to work the day after the wrap party and do a day's worth of blue screen shots and suddenly it was over. The lights went out on the bridge And I was standing there alone. I would rather just think of it as a marvelous, great character to play. That will keep me from crying, at least in this month.

[from "Endgame"]

Admiral Janeway: I always assumed it was a one-way trip.

Pat Collins: Don't miss our coverage of Voyager's last show next Wednesday and we'll have a sneak peek behind the scenes on Enterprise, the new Star Trek series starring Scott Bakula. I'm Pat Collins, UPN 9 News.
