Live Fast and Prosper

Harry invites Tuvok to eat with him and Tom...but Tuvok isn't feeling very friendly today.
Tuvok accuses them of tampering with his holoprogram...again.
Tom and Harry suggest it's just a malfunction.
"The Oracle of K'Tal isn't programmed to wear pajamas," Tuvok says sternly.

"Maybe he overslept," Tom suggests.

Tuvok is not amused. Tom and Harry protest their innocence...not very convincingly.

(Do straight guys sit this close together? ;-)

As soon as Tuvok leaves, Harry turns to Tom with a conspiratorial air. "I wonder how the oracle would look in a sombrero?"
They laugh heartily at the thought....
...until Janeway and Torres come in, warning people not to eat the food.
The food may be contaminated, due to a replicator malfunction.
Tuvok gets the last laugh. He hasn't eaten yet, but Tom and Harry have been shoveling it in like there's no tomorrow.
"I wish I hadn't had seconds," Harry groans.
Tom and Harry look at each other in concern and horror. In the background, Tuvok is smugly unworried.
Nice moment near the end of the episode: "She's gone." Harry's report to Janeway is very somber, knowing that Dala has unwittingly taken Tom with her.

I liked this one. It was different and entertaining, funny without being stupid. Good use of the ensemble, which we hardly ever see any more. Almost everyone had a role to play - one that meshed well with his or her character. We got to see the crew interacting with each other, something that's been sadly missing this year - in combinations we don't often see, such as Paris-Neelix and Tuvok-Paris-Kim.

There was only one P/K scene, but it was charming and fun, with a lovely sense of intimacy between them. They were practically sitting in each other's laps. Tom and B'Elanna (on the rare occasions that we see them together) sit across the table from each other, and so did Harry and Lyndsay. But Tom and Harry always sit next to each other, elbow to elbow, their knees touching. Even when there's no one else at the table. (And you'd think Paris and Torres didn't even know each other in this episode. They barely had a scene together.)

There was also a nice bit of continuity from "Ashes To Ashes," with Harry apparently still playing pranks on Tuvok, now with Tom's help.

A few continuity problems slipped through. For example, the previously claustrophobic Tom ("One") doesn't seem to be bothered by hiding in that coffin-like biobed. But overall, a good, solid episode.
